In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alice Liou

Doctoral Student
Alice Liou is an educator who works with young people to use design and storytelling as a means to amplify youth voice and build critical community. She is a current Ph.D. student at Columbia University, studying Ethnic Studies and constructionism in education. Previously, Alice was a middle school teacher, a curriculum designer, and an educational researcher.

Jared Narlock

Vice President of Talent Development at Regional Health
Jared Narlock is an advocate for lifelong learning and development. He has had the immense pleasure working to make a difference in the lives of those he works with as the Vice President of Talent Development for Regional Health and as an active volunteer with junior achievement in Rapid City.

Liliana Tamayo

Student
Liliana Tamayo is Sicangu Lakota, raised on the Rosebud Reservation. She currently attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is the Vice President of the Inter-tribal Student Council on campus and a member of AISES. She is a mentor to Native students who attend Omaha Public Schools.

Marisa Snider

Software developer and founder of Redpowerlive.com
Marisa (Rissa) Lee Snider is Lakota from the Hunkpapa, Oglala, and Sicangu bands. She is a recent graduate of Berea College in Kentucky with a Computer Science degree. She is a software developer; founder behind redpowerlive.com. She is dedicated towards giving back to her community through the access and use of technology.

Nayana Rathmalgoda

Artist
Nayana is a BSc PreVeterinary grad, Golden Key International Honor Society member and Critically Acclaimed Artist, entirely self taught, and will be joined onstage with his K9 Angel. Passionate about wildlife with a focus on the Illegal Wildlife Trade, the project presented in this talk is a collaboration with Breaking the Brand focused on the trade in Rhino Horn, a bloody trade that is decimating the Rhino population close to the point of extinction within the next few years at the current rate.

Wiyaka Little Spotted Horse

Wiyaka is a 17-year-old student attending Little Wound High School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She is a young poet and artist.
