In 2016 the students of psychology organized the first event TedxUniversityofLjubljanaSalon at the Faculty of Arts. The topic of the first event was referring to search for the individual in modern society and to finding his path in today's world. We have met the stories of successful individuals who shape their way in the modern world and encourage the participants to find their own path.

Gabi Čačinovič Vogrinčič

teacher at the Faculty of Arts Ljubljana, clinical psychologist and family therapist
Gabi is a clinical psychologist and family therapist who focused all her scientific, teaching and professional work on the development of science and the social work profession. Her scientific monograph “Family Psychology” (1998) is a great Slovenian contribution to the justification of family psychology as a new psychological discipline. Scientific monograph “Social Work with the Family” (2006, 2008) however lays a foundation for the practice of support and assistance to families in the social work profession. In recent years, she studied the process of co-creation of assistance in the relations that enable everyone to be the expert from their own experience, to get expert support and to receive a respectful and responsible ally. Concepts like working relationship, the original work plan assistance, co-creation of solutions and language of co-creation, introduced a new paradigm in the process of support and assistance, which then went beyond social interaction with families and into a

Jan Kikelj

community projects creator
Jan Kikelj is one of those to whom the traditional way of work is never really a challenge. After graduation, he drifted away from economy and started with exploring the fields of design and communication. Currently, he is a part of the design working collective “Ljudje”, where he is occupied with designing communication and creating community projects. Collective “Ljudje” is the response to rapidly changing conditions and culture of work. Individuals, aware of the importance of collective working, create their value with intertwining and integration of different skills profiles, from interactive design to analytical ethnography. Learning of processes and constant interaction enable individuals to maintain interest in everyday activity and develop unique approaches to easily accommodate in the wider community.

Nasti is a young psychologist, who is fascinated by technological progress and ways to use technology to improve our life. About a year ago, she founded one of the most advanced charity platforms, named StoryLink, which provides completely transparent assistance to children in distress. She then handed over the project to one of the largest humanitarian organizations in our country and decided to continue her way in high-tech enterprise, named Visionect. She mainly deals with ways, in which to bring technological solutions to end users and to bring products into the mainstream market.

Petra Novak

psychologist and project manager
As a psychologist and the project manager in the selection of personnel in staffing agency Competo, she is facing the labor market and the wishes, needs at the level of organizations as well as individuals every single day. Besides from performing psychological tests and managing project searches and selection, she also prepares and carries out assessment centers, career counseling and outplacement processes. She also pays great attention to learning in different areas. She is currently studying for becoming cognitive-behavioral therapist. In addition, she is heavily involved in research in the field of learning about future works and the jobs of the future. Her commitment and perseverance are not only visible in her work: when in winter, she goes to snow-covered mountains and when she goes on hot climbing walls or between tall waves in the summer, there is no way back – she always wins the top!
