In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chester Elton

Called the “Apostle of appreciation” by the Globe and Mail, Canada’s largest newspaper, and “creative and refreshing‚” by the New York Times, Chester Elton is co-author of several successful leadership books. All In, The Carrot Principle and What Motivates Me have been New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestsellers. His work has been called a “must read for modern managers,” by Larry King of CNN. Elton’s books have been translated into more than 30 languages and have sold more than a million copies worldwide. As a motivation expert, Chester has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Fast Company and the New York Times, and has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, National Public Radio and CBS’s 60 Minutes. And if you Google the 30 top leadership gurus of 2013, you’ll find Chester Elton at number 12, right after John Baldoni and just ahead of Jim Collins.

Elizabeth Yuko

Dr. Elizabeth Yuko, an internationally experienced bioethicist and communications strategist, will be presenting “A Lesson in Bioethics Given By Golden Girls.” Currently, Yuko is an adjunct professor of ethics. In addition, she is and the founding editor of the Ethics & Society blog at Fordham. Dr. Yuko also serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Bioethics Initiative and as an external ethics expert for the European Research Council. She has been published in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone and Ms. Magazine, among others.

Giacomo Santangelo

Dr. Santangelo is an economist with training in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis with more than 15 years of experience in teaching at various Universities in the New York area. Undergraduate classes taught include Statistics & Statistical Decision-Making Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, International Economics, Environmental Economics, Financial Economics, Money & Banking, Corporate Finance, Public Finance, Comparative Economic Systems, Sports Economics.

Joshua Fredenburg

Joshua Fredenburg is a nationally acclaimed speaker, media commentator, leadership/diversity consultant, relationship expert, and author of five books. He has served as a keynote speaker for different lectures, conferences, retreats, and trainings at various colleges, non-profit organizations, and corporate events in forty four different states. He is also a dynamic speaker who is known for delivering an inspirational message with expert advice that leads to immediate, life changing and transformational results!

Nicholas Tampio

Nicholas Tampio is Associate Professor of Political Science at Fordham University. Tampio researches the legacy of the Enlightenment in contemporary politics and philosophy. His first book, Kantian Courage, considers how Anglo-American, Continental, and Islamic political theorists renovate Kant’s critical philosophy. Tampio’s second book, Deleuze’s Political Vision, explains why Gilles Deleuze’s masterpiece, A Thousand Plateaus, ought to enter the political theory canon. Tampio has published peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as the Journal of Politics, Political Theory, and Politics & Religion, as well as op-eds in prominent outlets such as the Aeon, Huffington Post, and CNN. He is currently writing a book on democracy and national education standards.

Salvatore Cocchiaro

Salvatore Cocchiaro is a current Senior at the Gabelli School of Business from Bayside, NY. After graduating from Saint Francis Prep in Queens, NY, Sal joined the Fordham University community in Fall of 2013. At Fordham University, he has worked to serve his community as a leader through various student organizations. His experiences as a Vice President on the United Student Government, the chairman of the Gabelli School Dean’s Council, and the director of the Catholic Interscholastic Business Challenge, a business and ethics competition, have exposed him to new challenges, opportunities, and perspectives. Upon graduation, he will return to Saint Francis Prep to assist in a comprehensive research program regarding their Science Research program and will be applying to various public policy schools and law schools to further his academic background and better understand the social issues facing cities in the 21st century.

Young Lee

Young Lee’s is the Executive Director of the Innovative Workplace Institute in New York and the creator of the CAPTIW, the Comparative Assessment and Performance Tool for Innovative Workplace. She is pioneering new ways of practicing designing and managing workplaces with a comprehensive analytic and diagnostic tool to address the optimum worker performance toward a sustainable workplace. she emphasizes, first, a synergy of the triple bottom line of creative and innovative workplaces: people, process, and organizational culture; and, second, implementation of new ways of workplace performance measures and comprehensive evaluation tools for the 21st century workplace, by connecting organization innovation performance to the performance of the workplace environment.
