Theme: The Best of TED, 2016!

This event occurred on
December 19, 2016
5:30pm - 7:00pm MST
(UTC -7hrs)
Santa Clara, Utah
United States

Every month, the Santa Clara Branch Library hosts a TED discussion group where we
get together and view a set of TED and TEDx videos focusing on a central theme, followed by a discussion afterwards. Future topics and videos can and will be chosen by the group. Have a favorite TED talk? Share it! Have a topic you want to discuss? Let us know! This group follows the mission of the TED organization; a "community welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world." Come be a part of an engaging and welcoming discussion where you don’t have to read the book before you attend!

Total Attendance: 3

TED videos presented:
Latif Nasser: You Have No Idea Where Camels Really Come From
Kang Lee: Can You Really Tell if A Kid is Lying?
R. Luke Dubois: Insightful Human Portraits Made From Data
Lidia Yuknavitch: The beauty of being a misfit
Amanda Palmer, Jherek Bischoff, Usman Riaz: "Space Oddity"

Comments: The members seemed to really enjoy 2016's best talks! The favorite between those who attended was Amanda Palmer's version of "Space Oddity" as they were both musicians. We will definitely be hosting a music themed TED talks discussion in the future!
