TEDxUNB is a conference designed to actively engage the brightest minds at UNB. We believe that this conference will create a platform to connect and share local ideas and thoughts. Through speakers and performances, we hope to spark imagination and creativity in the millennial generation at UNB. In this way, by bringing together a multitude of ideas from the community, we want to facilitate inspiration. We hope that TEDxUNB can bring together a diverse group of individuals who will create change in the university, local community and the world.

Truesettos A Cappella

Truesettos is the premiere A Cappella group at the University of New Brunswick. Through their diversity in both members and music alike, they hope to inspire and touch their audience.

Connor Morand

Connor Morand is a multi-talented Canadian singer/songwriter who has been playing the guitar and performing since the age of 11. Now, at 23 years old, Connor has matured into a solid composer having written music for TV & film as well as performing on radio, live events, conferences, and various musical venues. Connor has just come off a worldwide tour through Europe and Asia in late 2016, playing in over 10 different countries.

Greg Hemmings

As an entrepreneur, filmmaker, and community movement-maker, Greg Hemmings is a global thought leader in the area of positive social impact filmmaking. Greg’s focus is on how companies can inspire positive change by investing in the sharing of important stories that help to accelerate social movements that matter to them.

Hannah Martin

Hannah is a member of the Millbrook First Nation community. Currently, she resides in Hamilton, Ontario, where she pursues her undergraduate degree in Indigenous studies at McMaster University, as a 2015 Joyce/Crawford Loran Scholar. Hannah is a speaker and storyteller thought relating her ancestors’ struggles and resistance to her personal journey, as well as the future she sees for her children and the seven generations to come.

Mansa Agbaku

Mansa Agbaku is a second year science student here at UNB who makes an effort to radiate positivity in every endeavour. She holds the art of storytelling in high esteem and welcomes any opportunity to couple her love of language with her passion for science. She has been a longtime volunteer at Loch Lomond Villa nursing home and aims to spark conversations centred around intergenerational relationships between senior citizens and young people.

Nadia Francavilla

Nadia Francavilla, Montreal-born violinist and music educator, brings a collaborative spirit, a passion for new music, and a distinctly European sensibility to her performances. She particularly enjoys working with young composers, sharing in their creative process and nurturing their innovative spark. Meanwhile, explorations of improvised works and frequent collaborations with visual and multimedia artists have shaped her study of music as performance art.

Patrick Reynolds

Since Dr. Patrick Reynolds first fell in love with mathematics, he has struggled to understand its beauty and power. After completing his doctorate and postdoctoral work, he joined UNB's Department of Math and Stats in 2013. Gripped by a passion for teaching, and dedicated to improvement as an effective instructor, he is fascinated by the contentious relationship we have--societally and individually--with mathematics.

Seshu Iyengar

Seshu Iyengar is a third-year student in the University of New Brunswick’s concurrent Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programme studying Philosophy and Biology-Physics. Seshu has a belief of why he chose such an non-typical combination of topics to study. And therefore, is interested in the area of cross-disciplinary education, where he explores the area of learning through multifaceted ways of learning in post-secondary education.
