Java Developer at NCT Corporation

Huynh Thanh Dat is currently a Java developer at the NCT Corporation. In the past, he also worked as a developer at VietnamCloud, and contributed to many projects such as Muott Mobile Ecommerce and Vcamcloud-v2. He attained the title of Memory Grand Master at Dynamic Memory Pvt. Ltd., an educational organization dedicated to teaching memorizing techniques and improving health. In 2014, he was the Coordinator of the Asia Pacific Talent Youth Training Center. He was also an Agile Vietnam volunteer.

Pham Duy Hieu has more than 16-year experience knowledge in banking and finance. He has taken senior management and consulting positions in Vietcombank, VietABank, ABBank, Vincom Securities Company, VNDirect Securities Company, fund management companies including Sabeco Fund and IPA Investment. In 2014, he was awarded the Outstanding Vietnamese Young Businessman Prize. He has joined many training courses in Vietnam and overseas such as Landmark Course, Bullet Proof Manager (Crestcom). His management and working philosophy emphasizes that people development is the foundation of the success of all organizations. In all management positions in corporation, he has always devoted to the training and education activities.

Sand Artist

Vo Thi Quynh Hoa – Vietnamese’s first female sand painting artist, is a young emerging artist with a heart full of love and hands full of skill. Graduated as a fashion designer of HUTECH, Quynh Hoa used to work for huge fashion companies in Ho Chi Minh City. However, fate led her way to find passion in such a new form of art – sand painting. She was deeply impressed by this mesmerizing art and the inferred stories delivered through lively sand drawings. With irresistible love for sand painting, she has officially committed to it, and has gained her reputation through several compositions, such as VTV3’s ‘Suoi Nguon Yeu Thuong’, Vinh Long Television’s ‘Hat Cat Ky Dieu’, and Ha Noi Television’s ‘Dieu Ky Dieu’.

Jimmy Thai came to America as a refugee in his 20’s, empty-handed with no education or English language. His first job was a school janitor. Today, he’s cracked the “Bamboo Ceiling” becoming a VP of a Fortune500 company and offered keynote speech/seminars on the American Dream. He serves on the Board of Directors for National Association for Asian American Professionals. In 2010, Jimmy Thai was placed in the top 18 speakers of Toastmasters International’s World Championship of Public Speaking, an annual competition with 25,000+ contestants from 106 countries, with his speech “10 Seconds to the American Dream”. He’s earned the highest award, Distinguished Toastmaster, and founded Leadership Foundation Academy to develop Mind - Body - Heart leaders.

John Huy Tran - UDG

Urban Dance Group

Coming together in 2009, UDG (Urban Dance Group) is a gathering of many dancers of different styles and backgrounds. UDG aims at strengthening the role of choreography, dance and dancers within Vietnam by transforming words and messages into movement and dance. UDG dancers are probably amongst the first Jazz dancers in Vietnam. All the dancers train at Dancenter with a group of international dance instructors and choreographers in all dance styles, from Ballet to Break. Many of UDG are top dancers of So You Think you Can Dance and Got To Dance Vietnam. UDG dancers perform regularly in TV shows, public and private events. UDG is known through three dance shows: Song – Life is a game (2014), Jazz! (2013), and Spot Light (2011).

Founder at Beautiful Mind VN

Nguyen Khanh Linh is an enthusiastic programmer and self-learner. She is the founder of the first mental health & psychology non-profit organization in Viet Nam: Beautiful Mind VN (BMVN), which aims at providing knowledge and information about psychology and mental health for Vietnamese people. She is also the main singer of Góc Phố Danh Vọng – Music drama at L’espace Trang Tien.

Lisa Schipper

Lecturer, Research Associate

Lisa Schipper’s research focuses on adaptation and socio-cultural vulnerability to climate change and natural hazards in developing countries. She has worked in Central and South America, East Africa and South and Southeast Asia. Based in Ho Chi Minh city, Lisa is a Research Associate with the Overseas Development Institute in London and an Associate with Stockholm Environment Institute Asia Centre in Bangkok, where she was also a Senior Research Fellow from 2008-2013. Lisa was a Lead Author in two recent reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and is a founding Associate Editor of the academic journal Climate and Development. Lisa holds a PhD in Development Studies from University of East Anglia (2004) and undertook a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the International Water Management Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka (2005-2007).
