Vo Thi Quynh Hoa – Vietnamese’s first female sand painting artist, is a young emerging artist with a heart full of love and hands full of skill. Graduated as a fashion designer of HUTECH, Quynh Hoa used to work for huge fashion companies in Ho Chi Minh City. However, fate led her way to find passion in such a new form of art – sand painting. She was deeply impressed by this mesmerizing art and the inferred stories delivered through lively sand drawings. Urban Dance Group
Coming together in 2009, UDG (Urban Dance Group) is a gathering of many dancers of different styles and backgrounds. UDG aims at strengthening the role of choreography, dance and dancers within Vietnam by transforming words and messages into movement and dance. UDG dancers are probably amongst the first Jazz dancers in Vietnam. All the dancers train at Dancenter with a group of international dance instructors and choreographers in all dance styles, from Ballet to Break. Lecturer, Research Associate
Lisa Schipper’s research focuses on adaptation and socio-cultural vulnerability to climate change and natural hazards in developing countries. She has worked in Central and South America, East Africa and South and Southeast Asia. Based in Ho Chi Minh city, Lisa is a Research Associate with the Overseas Development Institute in London and an Associate with Stockholm Environment Institute Asia Centre in Bangkok, where she was also a Senior Research Fellow from 2008-2013. Lisa was a Lead Author in two recent reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and is a founding Associate Editor of the academic journal Climate and Development. Lisa holds a PhD in Development Studies from University of East Anglia (2004) and undertook a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the International Water Management Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka (2005-2007).Organizing team
