This is our second TEDx event at Manchester High School. We explored the theme of Questioning Answers through the areas of criminal justice, gender, humor, social entrepreneurship, service learning, and scientific research.

Arfin Ali

Arfan Ali is a senior at Manchester High School where he is captain of the wrestling team and a science scholar conducting original research with his teacher and mentor Ms. Megan Rader.. He will be attending Trinity College in the Fall.

Brent Peterkin

Brent Peterkin is the statewide coordinator for Project Longevity, Connecticut’s multi-city group gun violence reduction initiative. Project longevity works together with members of the Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport communities to try and reduce violent crime by being proactive.

Dusty Rader

Dusty Rader is a 25 year old high school English teacher in Canton, Ct.

Gina Barreca

A beloved professor of English at the University of Connecticut for thirty years, Gina has won UConn's highest award for excellence in teaching.

Lucy Hurston

Professor Lucy Hurston is best known on the campus of Manchester Community College as the coordinator of all things related to Sociology and Service Learning. She is wholeheartedly involved in many volunteer projects with her students at MCC and is involved in many local organizations.

Ryan Westberg

Connecticut native Ryan Westberg is a co-founder of Serengetee, a social clothing venture launched out of his dorm room 5 years ago.
