In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Antonia Wysong

Antonia Wysong currently holds the position of Assistant Chief Pilot for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and is rated for B757, B767, CL65 and DC9 with Commercial privileges for both Airplane Single/Multiengine Land, and Airplane Multiengine Sea. She also holds Advanced Ground Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor Licenses. She has a BA in Business and Finance from London University, and a degree in International Culinary Arts, and a Masters in Nutrition.

Brooke Beach

Founder and chairman of MarketWake - a digital marketing agency, and CEO of Kevy - an commerce marketing automation company. She graduated magna cum laude from Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia. After graduation, she became a spokesperson for Fortune 500 companies and helped lead nation-wide public relations and marketing campaigns. A serial entrepreneur and sought-after leader in the industry, Beach has a passion for helping businesses and leaders grow and for empowering women to seek success, especially in tech startups.

Hala Moddelmog

Hala Moddelmog became the first female president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) in January 2014. She has spent the last 20 years of her career in president and CEO roles. She is a multi-dimensional leader with areas of strength in strategic planning, marketing, brand and product development, and assembling and managing high performance teams. She is known as a transformation specialist who revitalizes brands. Prior to joining MAC, Moddelmog was president of Atlanta-based Arby’s Restaurant Group, an international quick-service restaurant chain. In 2006, she was chosen as president and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest grassroots organization working to eradicate breast cancer through education, awareness, public policy and science throughout the globe. Moddelmog was the first woman to lead an international restaurant company when in 1995 she was named president of Church’s Chicken, the world’s third largest chicken brand.

Kathy Caprino

Kathy Caprino, M.A., is an internationally-recognized women’s career success and work-life expert, leadership consultant, speaker, and trainer dedicated to the advancement of women in business. A featured contributor on women’s careers, business and leadership for Forbes, Huffington Post, and LinkedIn, she is also the author of Breakdown, Breakthrough: The Professional Woman’s Guide to Claiming a Life of Passion, Power, and Purpose. A champion for working women, Kathy is a former corporate Vice President, a trained psychotherapist, specialized career and executive coach, and sought-after writer and speaker on women’s issues. She is the Founder and President of Ellia Communications, Inc. and The Amazing Career Project, supporting women to build successful, rewarding careers of significance.

Maryam Alavi

As an expert in IT innovations and strategic applications, Alavi has authored numerous published papers and has served on the editorial boards of several prestigious academic journals. She is a thought leader on technology-mediated learning and an experienced educator who has extensive experience in developing leadership curriculum. Dr. Alavi is a frequent speaker at national and international forums and conferences and has taught in executive programs at some of the world’s most prestigious business schools. She has consulted with organizations including AT&T, KPMG, IBM, Marriott Corporation, Sodexo, the American College of Physicians, the Aspen Institute, the General Accounting Office, International Association for Management Education, and the World Bank. Her international work experience includes teaching graduate and executive development programs in Europe, North Africa, and Asia.

Natosha Reid Rice

Natosha Reid Rice is a mother, a wife, an ordained minister, inspirational speaker, life coach and attorney. She serves as the Associate General Counsel for Real Estate and Finance at Habitat for Humanity International managing financing programs and strategies to generate sources of capital that enable Habitat affiliates provide decent, affordable housing to families throughout the country. In addition, Natosha also serves as an Associate Pastor, Women’s Ministries at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia and founder of Fresh Rain for Life Ministries, a non-denominational ministry that provides a “sanctuary for women in the midst of life” through worship services, retreats, bible studies, workshops, and mission outreach.

Shay Bentley-Griffin

Under the banner of The Chez Agency, Shay Bentley-Griffin began her career as a successful talent agent, launching the careers of many actors in soaps, television series, and feature films. She later moved forward to establish Chez Casting, Inc. and quickly became a prolific casting director for film and television. In her distinguished career, Shay Bentley-Griffin has cast over 225 television and feature film projects, including Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, Kill The Messenger, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, The Watsons Go To Birmingham, and the miniseries Coma produced by Mark Zucker, each of which was a showcase for Georgia talent appearing in almost 80 percent of the roles. Bentley-Griffin also cast the critically acclaimed feature films Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Remember the Titans, and Sweet Home Alabama.

Theresa Wenzel

Currently Team President of the WNBA's Atlanta Dream. Theresa Wenzel spent the previous 10 years as a top athletic administrator at Georgia Tech, joining the Yellow Jackets in 2005 before being elevated to the position of Senior Women’s Administrator in 2006. She was honored as the 2011 Administrator of the Year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).Theresa Wenzel joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in October 2005 and currently serves as the Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator. In her role, Wenzel oversees women's basketball, golf, softball, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, and volleyball.
