Fiorenzo Galli
Born in Milan in 1955, Fiorenzo Galli holds a degree in Political Economics and Finance from the Universita degli Studi - Milan. He is General Director of the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci since 2001.
Officer of the Italian Alpine troops, he has a 20 year entrepreneurial experience in the electromechanic sector with his family business.
He has held different roles in Confindustria and Assolombarda and was a member of the Executive Board and of the Presidential Committee and President of the lobby "Giovani Industriali" (Young Industrialists).
He is member of the Committee and of the Board of the "Probiviri" of Assolombarda.
He is member of the Scientific Committee for the Diffusion of Scientific Culture of the Ministry of University and Research.
He is member of the ECS1TE (European Collaborative for Science Industry and Technology Exhibitions) Board, of the Kuratorium of the Deutsches Museum in Munich and of many other Scientific Committees.
He is member of the "Design Jury" ADI (Industrial Design Association).
He is member of the International Advisory Board of U.N.E.S.CO.
He has been awarded with the "Premio Scientifico Capo d'Orlando". The award represents a public acknowledgement for those who work with important results in the field of multidisciplinary research, in dissemination and in scientific journalism, in museum management and in the enhancement of science through the web. He was also awarded the "Premio Lombardia per il lavoro 2009".
Francesca Antoniolli
Born in Treviso in ’79, Francesca Antoniolli graduated in Material Engineer at University of Trieste. Decided to stay in Italy and continue the research activity undertaken with the thesis work on biological applications of MEMS devices, with a PhD in Material Science and Engineer. At the same time, maintained collaboration with the Medicine Faculty, performing research and teaching activity in the field of dental material and biomaterial in general.
In 2005, together with the colleagues Stefano Maggiolino and Nicola Scuor, engaged the competition for business ideas Start Cup Trieste, winning the first prize and the possibility to take part in the National Prize for Innovation. The following year, the industrial idea was realized with the foundation of Genefinity, the first University Spin-off in Trieste, of which she is co-founder and Managing Director.
After the conclusion of the PhD program, she chose to leave the academic world and to entirely dedicate to the entrepreneur activity. In Genefinity, she carries out both research activity, in the field of nanostructured materials for photovoltaic applications, and administrative activity: she is personnel officer and handles part of administration and financing.
With Genefinity, she received several awards at national level: Prize of Prizes for Innovation, conferred by President of Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano and the prize Start-up of the Year, that recognized the capacity of Genefinity entrepreneurs to translate the business idea into a productive context of excellence.
