Come share in our "Ideas Worth Spreading" at our 3rd Annual TEDx event! We will have 12 live speakers who come from the senior class of Challenge Early College High School and we are very excited to see the breakthroughs which come out of those talks!

Annette Mata

Student
Annette is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and she studied the idea of the importance of selfishness in order to become more selfless. Annette plans to attend Concordia University in the fall to study Criminal Justice and Religion Education.

Connor Barajas

Student
Connor is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of normalizing reactions to transgender students when they are transitioning. Connor plans to attend Wesleyan University in the fall to study Economics and Philosophy.

Elias Torres

Elias is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of improving his own and his peers' educational journey by implementing more time for curious discovery. Elias plans to attend the University of Houston in the fall to study Computer Science.

Everett is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of how to measure the emotional responses of therapy dogs - and why it matters. Everett plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall to study Animal Science.

Jennifer is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and she studied the idea of the effects that leading with "yes" when opportunities arise. Jennifer plans to attend Houston Baptist University in the fall to study Elementary Education with a focus in Special Education.

Keara is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and she studied the idea of how people treat the homeless and whether or not it dehumanizes all parties involved in those interactions. Keara plans to attend Sam Houston State University in the fall to study Criminal Justice.

Kevin is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of utilizing professional spaces which have been abandoned into making schools which will benefit the community. Elias plans to attend the University of Houston in the fall to study History and Political Science.

Kristopher is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of using aquaponic systems and community gardens to address food deserts within the city of Houston. Kristopher plans to attend the University of North Texas in the fall to study Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Manuel is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and he studied the idea of the significance of an instrument in the life of a musician. Manuel is still undecided about where he will study in the fall where he will study Accounting and Marketing.

Maria is a current senior at Challenge Early College High School and she studied the idea of developing a more realistic standard for the "Super Teacher" myth. Maria plans to attend Vanderbilt University in the fall to study Secondary Education and Mathematics with a minor in English.
