In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alastair McIntosh

Professor Alastair McIntosh is a human ecologist, theologian, activist and writer. He holds an honorary fellowship at Edinburgh University’s School of Divinity and a Senior Honorary Research Fellowship in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow. He guest lectures on nonviolence for senior military training courses at the UK Defence Academy. Recently he has undertaken extensive research for his book, Poacher’s Pilgrimage: an Island Journey.

Gavin Francis

Dr. Gavin Francis is a celebrated author and GP in Edinburgh who is passionate about compassionate engagement in care.

Kirsty Lewin

Kirsty Lewin a trustee of the UK charity Sustrans and heads up the Climate Change Hub in Scottish Government. She speaks Spanish and regularly travels to Colombia and speaks on climate change topics.

Mark Miller

Mark Miller is a PhD student whose research explores cognition and neuroscience. He has long been a seeker of experiential wisdom and has spent the last 10 years learning of wisdom teaching from the East and from his home in North America.
