TEDxBowValleyCollege 2016: Divergence

It is no secret that our global and local communities are experiencing unprecedented crisis in a number of areas. At the crux of this turmoil is divergence. A divergence of ideas, of world views, and of approach.

Yet divergence has not been the downfall of advancement. It has in fact, been the birthplace of innovation. Today’s event celebrates the attributions of divergence, of being willing to change the trajectory of one’s thinking in the name of progress.

Achieving understanding and cohesion, in light of divergent viewpoints first requires an open mind. How can you open yourself to opinions that challenge your concept of the world, or of yourself? Consider today’s talks as a stepping stone for appreciating a spectrum of perspectives, and not only be able to honor the difference that exists, but advance yourself, because of it.
