In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mr.Valentine is a rock band with five young guys. They view the world in a positive way. They love music and life with great enthusiasm. During the day,they are office workers in suits who work hard and strive for a brighter future; in the evening, they take off suits,turn into crazy rockers and step forward to compose their own music. Thus,songs they composed are pure and convey their yearning for beauty and reflections on the society. The band was formed three years ago.They stick to the creation of original music and aim to integrate the hardcore rock with their own musical style all the time. They’ve had ten original songs and still maintain great creativity. They firmly believe that with their efforts, the development of rock and original music in Nantong will be promising.

Zhang Lei is a senior researcher of Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology. She is also a provincial inheritor of the Shen Embroidery, which is a branch of the Su Embroidery and one of the national intangible cultural heritages in China. She advocates dynamic inheritance by integrating traditional elements with fashion in her design.

Manuel Bello

Manuel Bello—金曼—Nantong, Jiangsu, was born in La Habana, Cuba and immigrated to the USA when he was nine. He grew up in Miami, FL in an exile community. He earned a BA in Hispanic Studies from Vassar College and an MS and a Specialist in Education in Multicultural Education from the University of Miami. He taught English composition at Miami Dade College for over 10 years. He has published poetry, academic articles, and edited a college textbook. His paintings have been shown at the Hortt Museum in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He competes in masters swimming.

who is obsessed with kite and pursuit of perfection, successor of intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu Province.

Mr Zhang is the successor of intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu Province. When the Nantong Board Harrier Kite is on the verge of disappearing, he takes the core technology from the old artists. After making more than 40 years' efforts, Mr. Zhang has taken plenty of related traditional technologies into many aspects of board harrier, such as tying, pasting, painting and sculpturing. Having made a qualitative improvement of the performance and quality, Mr. Zhang was elected to the Delegation of Chinese artists in North America in 2014. By showing the unique Nantong Board Harrier Kite, he made the hundreds of thousands of the audiences from Washington and Toronto surprised and appreciate.

As an associate professor and Master Tutor of Nantong University, Ms. Shao was born in Wuhan. She earned a PhD of Landscape Architecture in Technical University of Berlin, in Germany. Also, she has a membership of TICCIH ( The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage). Her fields of expertise include History and theory of urban architectural landscape, Urban historical environment protection and urban renewal, Ecological City and Ecological Architecture.
