Andy Beeforth

Andy is the Chief Executive of Cumbria Community Foundation, an organisation that played a vital role in Cumbria’s flood recovery along with many other local causes. The Community Foundation is currently in the midst of its biggest challenge, responding to the needs of Cumbria’s flood affected towns and villages. We’ve already distributed nearly £4m through the Flood Recovery Appeal and are playing a fundamental role in helping people re-building their lives. We all face challenges and knock backs in life, but we need that get back up and keep on going spirit to achieve progression. The organisation I work for invests over £2.4m a year into shaping the futures of the young, people with disabilities and older people. It is their stories which will form the backbone for my talk on progression and it is their ideas and their vision for the future.

Brenda Crossley

Hi, I am Brenda Crossley and I run a website with a blog for women who are at the September time of their lives. September is a time of colour and change and my mission is to show the world that as we grow older, both males and females, we shouldn’t lose our identities and fall into the self-fulfilling prophecy of thinking we are too old. My profession is as a Registered Nurse specialising in the care of people with Learning Disabilities and I jointly run a social enterprise which support staff teams in developing and celebrating compassionate cultures for their patients. So I am used to challenges, and change. And I want to encourage people to embrace and manage change as they age.
