“How do we set the right conditions for innovation to happen?”

The rhetoric of innovation is often about fun and creativity, but the reality is that innovation is hard work and can be a very uncomfortable process!

In our view innovation is often the result of the interaction of several actors and emerge 
when diverse people collaborate to generate breakthrough ideas that achieve widespread impact. People that act in Ecosystems, system or network of interconnected elements, formed by the interaction of a Community with their Environment.

For us Innovation Ecosystem is Creating new global communities, unleashing an unprecedented wave of innovation in thousand of different diciplines, sharing this with all of you.
Alongside the events taking place in the congress hall, there will be a multisensorial workshop just for the little ones in attendance! Children ages 5-12 will be welcomed by Ecofficina who will invite them to partake in an experience called ‘Exploring the World of Coffee’.

We at TEDxCrocetta believe that innovation and new technologies can be discovered from a young age, and that through play, children learn and discover new realities. Therefore, we are pleased to offer this interactive and innovative workshop for children. Now, Innovation Ecosystem is for all ages!

Ares Ferrigni

CEO and co-Founder of WallFarm

Ares Ferrigni is the CEO and co-founder of WallFarm, a hydroponics firm based in Rome, Italy. As a result of Ferrigni’s innovation and passion, WallFarm was born and incorporated in December 2015. In his free time, Ferrigni composes and plays piano music, and he hopes bring his music, along with his sustainable agriculture, to marginalized communities.

Federica Maltese

Head of Fundraising at Fondazione Ricerca Molinette

Federica Maltese dedicates herself to helping organizations collect funds needed to achieve their missions, connecting people, projects and dreams. Federica finds inspiration and happiness in the number of lives she touches and the positive connections generated. She is the founder of LetWomen, a small non-profit association created to help women, working to ensure dignity for all people.

Giampaolo Casati

Jazz musician and teacher

Born in Genoa, he has been performing as concert artist, music teacher and Big Band/Combo Jazz arranger since several years. Giampaolo has recorded about fifty records, two of them as solo artist and two as conductor. Moreover he has taken part in several radio and TV programs and in the recording of soundtracks for movies and plays. Actually is Jazz Professor to the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Torino, Italy.

Ignazio Roppolo

Researcher in Material science at IIT

Ignazio Roppolo is a researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology. Since he was a child he has dreamt of becoming a scientist or a football player, but in the end, the scientific field prevailed! After receiving his Ph.D. from the Politecnico di Torino in Material Science he shifted his research to the development of innovative materials for 3D printing technologies.

Matteo Civaschi

Shortology Artist

Powerfully struck by the first Van Halen album cover, Matteo decided to focus his his time to “creating” graphics in his life. Despite the fact that his father wanted him to become a doctor, Matteo greatly enjoyed his wonderful years at an arts high school, and spent most of his time drawing and creating artwork. In 2004 he established H-57 as a design and motion graphic studio. Matteo experienced many successes over the years, such as the birth of Shortology, with 13 books published worldwide.

Michele Bertero

Freelance journalist & Account Manager

Michele has always been in love with food (for biological reasons), music (for spiritual reasons), and complicated things (for unknown reasons). Being Italian, mamma mia, the relationship with nurturing the body and celebrating the act of eating is one of the founding pillars of his culture. After many random life events he came to the crazy idea to unite his two passions, in an active project that reconsiders the food system from an acoustic point of view.

Niccolo Maurizi

Researcher in Cardiology and D-Heart CO-Founder

Young Medical Doctor and enthusiast researcher in Cardiology with the group of Dr. Iacopo Olivotto and Prof. Franco Cecchi in Florence, Niccolò; is an alumni of Collegio Borromeo in Pavia. He earned international experienced in various field of Cardiology working with different groups at Jhons Hopkins Hospital of Baltimore, London, Belgium, Pavia and India.

Nicolò Briante

Law Student and D-Heart CO-founder

Law Student, with international experience of research in the fieldof Business Law at Cambridge University and UCL, Nicolò; is astudent at Collegio Borromeo of Pavia and a great Start up enthusiast. He acquired experience in this field during a period spent in San Francisco as a selected student from the Mind the Bridge Start Up School.

Pierluigi Leone

Engineer and teacher of Energy Sustainability at Politecnico of Turin

Pierluigi is a mechanical engineer who teaches at the Politecnico di Torino in Italy. He is professor of Energy Sustainability, and Global Energy Trends and Outlook. Pierluigi is also the coordinator of the Massive Open Online Course, MOOC – The strange paradox of the world energy question. Pierluigi studies the field of energetics, and in particular, how innovations in energy technology connect to the environment, the economy and society.
