TEDxCapital is an invitation to add child and youth engagement to formulas that address social change. TEDxCapital will explore how youth service has positively impacted and strengthened communities throughout the past, current, and future generations. TEDxCapital will also address how children use technology to serve today, how they will build communities in the future, and what adults need to do to maximize young people’s impact.

Today’s youngest generation, the “iGeneration,” is one that interacts with and shapes the world through technology. They expect immediate results, are in constant communication with others, and are able to customize just about every experience. Experts who study the iGeneration identified several vital traits that define how this generation learns, serves, and leads – early familiarity with technology, expectations of multi-tasking, desire for immediate feedback and results, and the ability to use technology to create content. With this foundation, imagine what service will look like in 5, 10, 25 years.
