Theme: Fusion of Values

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Sahar Ghamati, the author of Dying into Life, is a 31 year old Persian/American woman fascinated by humanity’s ability to live the life they want. She attained her Doctorate in Metaphysics and went on to strengthen and apply her knowledge in her Hypnosis and Yoga Nidra Meditation practices. Sahar was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 11 years ago and has been able to reverse the symptoms of this condition with the tools she’s been gaining through her education and practices.

Sophia Sexton is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). Professor Sexton is an accomplished and innovative educational leader and literacy developer with over eighteen years of combined experience as a Developmental English Faculty, Literacy Coach, Reading Specialist, and Speech and Language Pathologist.
