Asian Parenting
Originally born in Hanoi and raised in a strict Asian family, I grew up with a lot of traditions and anxiety issues. However, they made me who I am today - a strong willed goody two shoes with a twist. A love for art, astronomical theories and learning new aspects of social perception provide me with a balance of self expression and absorption. I am now a senior who is striving to be a designer one day. Everyone has parent issues. Asian people specifically have tiger parenting issues. Sometimes, due the tiger parenting resentment, some of us asian people will lean towards adoring western parenting and educational methods. However, I am here to argue that stereotypical "tiger Asian parenting” is not as a bad as we thought, au contraire, the best.

Cooking Our Own Food
I think food is very important for everybody. Food is everywhere around us. We need it in our daily lives. Without food, we will experience great hunger. We are lucky to live in a city and have such great access to all different types fo fruits and vegetables. I have been cooking for many years now. It has become a passion of mine. I believe kids should learn to know how to cook for many reasons. By cooking, we will be more aware of our diet and know more about how to take care of ourselves. In my speech I will show you easy recipes all kids can learn. I will also discuss the psychological benefits of cooking

Teaching My Parents
I am 11 years old. I enjoy learning Math and English. School is very important to me. I don’t have enough confidence to speak in front of many people, so I hope my TED talk will help me with this problem. I've never done anything like this before. One thing I am an expert at is teaching my parents. My topic is about how adults can learn from children. I will be explaining why sometimes adults should listen to us children because I believe we do have a lot of good lessons to offer.

Nguyen Hoang Giang (Jolie)

500 Words A Week
My name is Jolie Nguyen. I am in 9C at ISHCMC - American Academy. I enjoy reading, drawing, writing, playing instruments, and doing many other art related activities. I will be talking about how I studied 500 words in 5 days in preparation for the SSAT test. I have some hidden technique to help me that I will share with you. I've also used to this tactic to teach myself other categories and topics. I think students and adults should all do the same.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoang Thai (Tom)

Learning Through Comics
I’m an extrovert, open minded, and energetic person. Due to my curiosity, I always want to try new things especially sports. As for my vision for the future, I want to become someone who can help others and innovate technology. Most of us believe in the stereotype that graphic novels are not educational, that their sole purpose is to entertain. However, I see them differently. I believe that every graphic novel carries much deeper meanings and messages that the author wants to deliver to their audience.

People's Perceptions
I am an ENFP, Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), Perception (P). In my free time, I like to explore the city and spend time with people. I want to create an impact in the society even though I procrastinate a lot, I strive to work hard in school and participate in as many interesting events as I can in my community. Many people tend to judge others based on what they hear or based on what they see. They believe what the public says, and some of them decide to spread rumours. As a result, these victims' lives might be damaged. I believe some people are putting on masks in public because they are vulnerable and are afraid to open up. I want to change people's perceptions about the way they judge others, and hopefully inspire some to have the courage to be true to themselves.

Tran Cong Thuy Anh (Morgan)

Journalism for Me
I am a lover of the arts, someone who dreams of a discrimination-free society, and a 9th grader looking for ways to make an impact on the people around me. For me, Journalism is a way to relieve stress. But that's not the only reason I do it. It helps me manage my thoughts and takes me away into a world where anything is possible. I think that there are many ways that this will help me in my career and in life. I hope this skill can reflect positively on you too.

Tran Manh Thang (Anthony)

Gardening
I am a 9th-grade student at ISHCMC - American Academy. My favorite subject at school is music. My hobbies aren't the same as many other students my age. I have a passion for growing plants and gardening. My TED talk will be about gardening and how it could help you relieve stress. I will also talk about how it is important that other students should learn how to garden. I look forward to sharing my personal experiences with the activity.

Tran Ngoc Quoc Bao (Patrick)

Gender Roles in Fashion
Hi! My name is Patrick from grade 11 at ISHCMC - American Academy. What I consider to be important are my family, friends and my education. I would love to work in the fashion industry in the future, but that does not certainly mean that I will be a fashion designer or a personal stylist. I would love to talk about gender roles in the modern fashion industry, and how people perceive fashion in today’s perspective.

Yu Huan Lin (Martin)
