Theme: The Missing Link

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmed Gabr

Ahmed Gabr is a 42 year old Ex Egyptian Army officer; at some point in his career he eventually earned a scholarship to attend the US Army Combat Diver course. He is the only certified US Combat Diver in the Middle East. He began his diving career at the age of 18, diving for pleasure then later decided to get his diving instructor training. During his diving years he dove both for work and for pleasure, while continuously building and developing both his mental and physical abilities. He broke 2 World Records in Deepest Scuba dive (male) and Deepest Sea Dive

Laila Ziko

Graduated from Pharmacy & Biotechnology GUC 2008 class, I got my MSc. degree in Biotechnology from the AUC by 2012 and currently a PhD candidate in Applied Sciences, Biotechnology. I'll be delivering a talk about a research project I was part of its team, where we used a novel way to kill cancer cells by silver nanoparticles that carry the chemotherapy. I'd like to share with you the idea of the project as well as the journey we walked till we finished the project.

Mazen El Nabawy

Mohamed Saada

fellow AUCian and Mechanical Engineering major, graduated from AUC and proceeded to be awarded the AUC university fellowship to pursue his graduate education. In 2005, he received a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Saada started his career as a sales and operations engineer in Seaharvest Oil & Gas Services and in 2009, he co-founded ACME Group, a technology company with offices in both Cairo and Dubai. With his three partners, they succeeded in becoming the market leaders in the distribution of electronic accessories and the official regional distributors of several renowned brands like Happy Plugs, Nyne, Laut, Beats by Dr. Dre, Jawbone and have recently signed with Apple Computers! With an satiable quench for academia and innovation, Saada also co-founded a sports management company, in 2014, introducing Padel Tennis to Egypt, starting with Katameya Heights; his aim is to promote GO! Padel as a fun and sociable sport to fit the Egyptian society.

Nada Ayoub

Hungarian/Egyptian visual artist, creative entrepreneur, choreographer and singer. She is currently a graduating senior double majoring in Visual Arts and IMC. Ayoub has been instructing hiphop and dancehall classes for the past three years in AUC, along with being the Chief Marketing Officer of Enactus AUC, Official Judge and Workshop Leader of SU Talent Show '16, Vice President of organizations like Heya and currently, the Universal Artist's Association. Her previous choreographing experiences include Hady El Bagoury's "Hepta: The Last Lecture",
