Held at The Roeper School in the year of its seventy-fifth anniversary, TEDxTheRoeperSchool will be a time to share ideas. There will be five speakers: chef Aaron Egan, historical medicine lecturer Lianna Trimble, college counselor Patrick O'Connor, Equity Schools president Richard Murray, and Uncomfortable Learning president Zachary Wood.

Aaron Egan

Aaron Egan is a professional chef, food writer, and food historian. He currently works in a food incubation program in Detroit's Eastern Market. He has spoken on the origins of modern cookery techniques, the definition of "local" food, and the mixing of food cultures.

Lianna Trimble

Lianna Trimble is a public speaking and poetry coach. She has been lecturing on historical medicine for over six years. She has been studying historical medicine and art history for over 15 years as an autodidact and remains a constant student of the subject.

Patrick O'Connor

Patrick O'Connor is a past president of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, author of five books, and a national columnist for the Huffington Post. He has worked as a college counselor for 32 years, helping students understand that the key to a better choice is a better understanding of yourself.

Richard Murray

Richard R. Murray is the founder of Chicago-based firm Equity Schools and the inventor of Nonlinear Funding. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, London School of Economics, and the University of Salzburg.

Zachary Wood

Zachary Wood is the president of Uncomfortable Learning, a student group at Williams college that strives to broaden the range of dialogue on campus around pressing issues of our time. He has written for numerous popular publications about race, free speech, campus protests, and intellectual diversity.
