In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Lucy and Melodie Karczewski

Lucy and Melodie are the talented twin sisters that make up the band 'Geordie Fan Club'. They are active participants in the local music community as well as in the music and drama departments at the school where they have just completed their GCSEs, Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School.

Jemma Hart

Jemma Hart has just completed her GCSEs at Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School. She also happens to have a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia. She is passionate about fundraising and raising awareness about dwarfism and even ran a week long charity event at school.

Nic Newing

Nic Newing is IT manager at Gatic, an engineering firm. He loves new technology and is particularly passionate about the importance of using and keeping up to date with innovation.

Phil Buckley

Dr. Phil Buckley is a senior lecturer in ecology and animal behaviour at Canterbury Christ Church University. His PhD focussed on invasive species and this has continued to be a particular area of interest for him.
