TEDxNMIMS aims to utilize TED’s education style to create a thought provoking event for the community at NMIMS, Mumbai. With this event, we aim to create more than a day filled with information and hope to challenge established thinking and encourage the community to look at new ideas. The talks presented will be aimed at instilling the power of ideas and opening the community to the potential of renewed thinking. We hope that our TEDx will be a meaningful experience for both the community and the organizers.

Abhishant Pant

Abhishant is a Mumbai based payments professional, he started cashless journey (he has stopped carrying physical manifestation of cash) experiment on 13th march 2016 to understand the challenges and catalysts in India’s journey towards a cashless society. He is a well-known payments domain expert and shares his expertise on regular basis @ Fintech Hub’s like Rise, Zone Start-ups and as Industry faculty @ IIT Mumbai.

Ankur Thakuria

Mr. Ankur Thakuria is a travel enthusiast and business development enthusiast at Headout. At the age of 22, he has travelled across 44 countries and bringing a difference to the way people live their lives. He will decode the difference between 'Work for Travel' and 'Travel for Work'.

Anu Aggarwal

Anu an international model quit Bollywood when still a cover girl and turned a karmayogi. She has documented her unreal miraculous story in memoirs called anusual, a bestseller. This is Anu’s 2nd TEDx talk. The president of Anu Aggarwal Foundation TM she is today a Karmayogi. Internationally she spreads the message of the yoga miracle today through talks, posters, and teaching. At the same time she follows a rigid routine of personal sadhana or practice, and devotes rest of the time to keep her yogi knowledge updated. Recently she enrolled to study the Science of Happiness in edX Berkeley, US. Her life a TED story, she is a recent TEDx talker. Anu is also the author of her bestselling memoirs anusual: the girl who came back from the dead, available on Amazon worldwide, is all set to be launched in the United States soon

Winner of first ever Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic India 2015, a life coach,motivational speaker and an author. A small town girl from north east India and a former flight attendant shares her story of achieving inner success first which has led to external success later on.

Vidita Vaidya

Dr. Vidita Vaidya received her undergraduate training in Life Science and Biochemistry at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She obtained her doctoral degree in Neuroscience at Yale University, and after postdoctoral fellowships at the Karolinska Institute and Oxford University she returned to a faculty position at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in 2000. Vidita received the National Bioscientist Award in 2012 and the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in Medical Sciences in 2015. She is a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy. Her research group is interested in understanding the neurocircuitry of emotion, its modulation by life experience and the alterations in emotional neurocircuitry that underlie complex psychiatric disorders like depression and anxiety. When not in the lab, Vidita can be found hanging out with her daughter, with her nose buried in a book, at a salsa class or on the road travelling.
