In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

ANIRUDH KALA

Anirudh Kala is an expert in Machine Learning techniques, Artificial Intelligence, creating predictive models using state of the are Machine Learning and Deep Learning Algorithms. He has helped multiple organizations with Quantitative Research and Data Science Exploration and Big Data implementation. He has also been involved in energy optimization at the International Space Station, in coordination with NASA. He is the co-founder of Celebal Corp, where he leads the Data Science Vertical to build applications that make use of Big Data technologies and Data Science. He has also worked as a Data Analytics consultant at IBM.

KARUNA NUNDY

Karuna Nundy is an advocate of the Supreme Court of India since 2002. She has been featured of Forbes India’s list of Minds that Matter. She qualified as an attorney from New York in 2001. Currently based in New Delhi, she specializes in human rights litigation and commercial dispute resolution. She also advises civil society movements, United Nations agencies and various international governments to help their legal systems conform to international and constitutional legal standards. She is currently representing the People’s Union of Civil Liberties challenging unconstitutional restrictions on online speech and leading the Bhopal Litigations in the Supreme Court. She is also an outspoken proponent of Women’s Rights movements.

MANISH GUPTA

Manish Gupta is a non-resident Indian film-maker, entrepreneur and poet, settled in Miami, USA. He works to promote and popularise Hindi-Urdu poetry among younger generations and to spread awareness about its aesthetic appeal. He has launched the YouTube channels Hindi Kavita (Hindi Poetry) and Urdu Studio which together, have garnered over a million views with no marketing or promotion. During the course of these endeavours, he has interacted with several publishers and members of the student community, and has filmed documentaries featuring several accomplished actors. He is also a columnist for a leading Indian daily.

P.K. SAIGHAL

Major General (Retd.) P K Sehgal is a veteran of the Indian Armed Forces and a leading expert in electronic warfare. He has served with the Indian Armed Forces for forty-one years and has served in the 1962, 1965, 1971, 1999 wars and has been involved in insurgency and anti-insurgency operations for close to 25 years. He has also been a part of several rescue missions during his career. He is also a renowned orator and has spent much time interacting with young audiences. He is featured in several television news programs and is known for his controversial views.

POPATRAO PAWAR

Popatrao Pawar is the Sarpanch of Hiware Bazar, a gram panchayat in Maharashtra. He is credited with the transformation of the village from an impoverished one into a model of development that the government of Maharashtra wishes to implement across the state. It is a successful reproduction of Anna Hazare’s Ralegaon Siddhi model of village development. He was featured in an India Today cover as the person who demonstrated how rural water resources could be reviewed. With him as Sarpanch, the Hiware Bazar gram panchayat won the first National Award for community led water conservation in 2007.

TRUPTI JAYIN

Trupti Jayin is a clinical psychologist and occupational therapist from the G S Medical College in Mumbai. She is a certified past-life therapist and rebirthing expert who has been working for the last three decades in the fields of mental health with children, adolescents and adults. She is the founder of the SETU organisation, where “inner learning” is facilitated; she has received many accolades for her pioneering work in Past-Life Regression Therapy, through her acclaimed show ‘Raaz Pichle Janam Ka’ and has been felicitated by several social and educational organisations in India. She has performed innumerable psychotherapies, including dream Analysis, art therapy and movement therapy.

VAIBHAV CHHABRA

Vaibhav Chhabra is a mechanical engineer, who graduated from Boston University in 2011. He spent two years building eye diagnostic devices. He is currently an instructor at the MIT REDX health care innovation labs, where he mentors the teams on health care devices and solves problems for Kumbh Mela. He has founded Makers Asylum - a collaborative maker space for incubating creative technological endeavors and fostering a culture of innovation and learning across the domains of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). He has also been avidly involved in research throughout his career and educational life and has spent some time as a teaching assistant.

YANGDUP LAMA

Yangdup Lama is a mixologist and entrepreneur who heads the ‘Cocktails and Dreams’/‘Thirsty Three Hospitality’ bar and beverage consultancy company, along with a commercial bar (a Modern Speakeasy) and bartending school for aspiring professionals. Originally hailing from Darjeeling, he began his career with the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi and is currently working as a consultant and trainer for the beverage industry, including United Spirits, Pernod-Ricard, Bacardi, Diageo and Angostura. He was adjudged the Indian Bartender of the Year in 1996 and received the Asia-Pacific ’30 Under 30’ award in 1997.
