In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jared Emerson

Artist Jared Emerson’s focus is to capture the essence of what he creates with charcoals, oils, acrylics, graphite and other mixed mediums. Jared leaves those who watch with an unexpected surprise, leaving a piece of himself on the canvas.

Jason Russell

Jason Russell - Co-Founder at Invisible Children, Inc., Jason Russell led the company’s creative vision with an emphasis on the power of storytelling for over a decade. Using new media to artistically tell real and personal stories, and calling on viewers to get involved, he has propelled Invisible Children to redefine and re-brand the nonprofit industry. Jason is both a work and life partner to his childhood sweetheart Danica, and can't wait for their book "The ABC's of Activism" to be released. He believes the greatest stories he gets to co-direct are those of his two gifted and gorgeous children, Gavin Danger and Everley Darling.

Makena Lautner

Makena Lautner, born in Michigan, raised in California, loves a challenge. From an early age Makena’s parents taught her the power of being able to adapt to whatever circumstances she finds herself in. Makena discovered very early in her life that life continually presents challenges. Through learning to adapt, she has navigated through a series of unexpected circumstances in her life successfully and has used those challenges to propel the student body at her high school to rethink their circumstances in a positive manner refining their thinking.

Ray Lewis

Ray Lewis, one of football's greatest linebackers, retired from the Baltimore Ravens after being awarded XXXV Super Bowl MVP and 2x Super Bowl Champion.

Shawn Gordon

Shawn Gordon is the director of Project Bayview based in San Francisco, CA where he mentors men released from prison working help them turn from violence and despair to taking an unexpected turn into their lives giving them hope and support.
