Theme: Fusion x Chain Reaction

This event occurred on
March 20, 2016
Chiyoda, Tôkyô
Japan

Inspiration for this event comes from the notion of a particle accelerator. The accelerator can bring about nuclear fusion and fission.

Fusion generates new material and enormous energy through the collision of two different atomic nuclei. Fission creates energy through the chain reaction which occurs when a neutron hits an atomic nucleus.

In this TEDx event, new ideas are generated through the collision of existing ideas (fusion). Moreover, ideas can be stimulated by other ideas and then spread like a chain reaction (fission). We derive energy from this process.

We have substituted the word 'creation' for these two images of fusion and fission.
