In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bill Palmer

Bill Palmer is a teacher at Barrington High School. As he likes to say, he works with young people who were a lot like him when he was their age and that if they were the same age they would most likely be friends.

Emma Bradford

Emma Bradford is sixteen and a junior at Barrington High School. She plans to minor in Spanish, major in Computer Science, get a PhD. in Anthropology.

Gus Goetze

Gus Goetze is a senior here at BHS. He is a passionate traveler and is very interested in film making. With this talk he hopes to inspire other people to expand their horizons and learn more about the human race.

Ishani Vyas

shani Vyas is fourteen years old and hopes to pursue a career in a STEM field.

Jenny Deering

Jenny is a 17 year old junior with a passion for art, writing and science. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois and also loves to travel. Jenny has traveled to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong with her friend's family and she hopes to revisit the countries in the future. Jenny is one of the captains of the science Olympiad team and loves to run and swim. She's also passionate about social activism, especially in the field of mental health.

Katya Hersh

Katya is a freshman, class of 2019. Katya plays tennis on an international, national, and regional level. Her dream is to go pro and become number 1 in the world. She wants to go to college at the University of Southern California. Her idol is Monica Seles who she copies her tennis playing style from. Katya plays tennis for a minimum of 2 hours a day every day of the week, every week of the month, and every month of the year.

Liana Fu

Liana Fu is a Junior at Barrington High School who loves to write. Even if you don't like writing, she hopes that you can look at art from a different perspective.

Dunya and Mounika are both freshman. During the presentation they hope to enlighten your understanding of success.

Obioma Azie

Obioma Azie is a senior at Barrington high school. She is an avid fan of poetry, and has been writing it since she was little. In her poem -''A Poem for the Citizen" , Obioma will talk about the common social issues of the world.

Riley Wilford

Riley Wilford is 16 years old, has 2 dogs, as well as a fish whose name is a pun. She is going to be talking about being a caregiver to her parents, Dave Wilford and Denise Wilford.

Tom Bredemeier

For 25 years Tom ran a manufacturing business, and then he became a high school computer science teacher. Now he teaches more than 120 kids every day how to code. He says it's the best job he's ever had!
