In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

The UNEP Live Web Intelligence system tracks sustainability communication on behalf of the United Nations Environment Programme. The US Election 2016 Web Monitor is a public platform to better understand political communication and track the presidential race in the United States. Both applications use technologies developed in European research projects such as ASAP, DecarboNet, InVID and Pheme, and can be accessed online: UNEP Live Web Intelligence | www.weblyzard.com/unep-live US Election Monitor | www.weblyzard.com/us-election-2016

Nuriel Molcho

Eating is always done at a large table with the whole family and many friends. And it is exactly on this principle that we have built NENI. All family members contribute their talents to the company and are in continuous communication with one another. NENI is our passion paired with openness and love for food. Architecture, Art and Fashion have always interested me; I guess in this way I am similar to my father who is also a natural aesthete. What I love about NENI and my role within it is that I can realize this passion – whether it be through photography for our Instagram page, through our product packaging or through our events. Today a large part of my work involves travelling and testing out new concepts. NENI has become a lifestyle brand, which knows no boundaries. “Life is Beautiful” – that is what we want to convey to you on a daily basis.

Simon Horowitz

I’m a 29 year-old from Manchester, England, who has been living and working in Vienna since 2010. Although I studied International Business, the Teach For Austria program has allowed me to work for the last three years as a full-time English and Sport teacher at a Neue Mittelschule in the city. At the age of 19, I broke my back in a snowboarding accident. This near-death experience made me realise that I was lucky to still be alive and led me to run my first ever marathon just 12 months later. Over the past ten years I’ve run marathons in cities all over Europe and in 2014 and this inspired me to create my own running event, the U-Run. The annual event where teachers show their pupils firsthand that anything is possible by running non-stop the incredible 86km distance of the Vienna Underground network and in turn hundreds of schoolchildren show the world that they are capable of anything by running the final 5km.
