TEDxIIITA builds a TED like experience at IIIT-Allahabad in order to engage the students, faculty and staff in thoughtful discussions. Our audience will consist of students from IIIT Allahabad, leading professors and researchers, area leaders and visionaries. Our event will be limited to 100 audience members in compliance with the TEDx rules.

Ankur Thakuria

Youth Leader, Serial Entrepreneur, Travel enthusiast
After completing a year at Teach for India, Ankur is currently working on building his third series venture. Based out of Pune, Ankur consults for several colleges and schools on topics related to Youth Empowerment, Travel, Youth Opportunities and Global Education. He has also been a speaker at TEDx editions of NIT Calicut, SRM Ramapuram, DPS RK Puram, PWS Aravali. He graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru (Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India) in June 2014. His travel experiences span to over 44 countries at the age of 21. He was picked to be a part of the G20 Summit, Cannes 2011 and being a part of history in it making. He has been to several other inter-governmental meets like World Future Energy Summit, Global Entrepreneurship Summit and APEC Summit to name a few. One of his recent achievements was being called in as a mentor by The Climate Reality Project, to work alongside US Senator, Mr. Al Gore in training 500+ Climate Leaders this year.

Kaartikeya Bajpai

Editor in Chief, The Bombay Review
A journalism graduate (2015) from Symbiosis International University, Kaartikeya, 20, has worked as a crime reporter for Mumbai Mirror, features writer for DNA, and cultural reporter for Helter Skelter Magazine. His work has appeared in numerous literary magazines like Sahitya Academy, Tehelka, Reading Hour, Spark Magazine, Everyman’s Science, among others. He was nine when he was first published in Chandamama, and has been writing ever since. In October 2013, he independently published a collection of his work over ten years, from age eight to eighteen, titled – Before I Switched to Pens.As part of his work with The Bombay Review, he has been invited to give a TEDx talk in Dhaka, be a panelist at Zeitgeist – Media Conference of St. Xaviers College in Mumbai and be a panelist at Anuvad Translation Festival in Assam. He has also conducted literary events for the magazine, across the country, and coordinated others abroad.

Rahul Kala

Assistant Professor (Robotics), IIIT Allahabad
Dr. Rahul Kala holds a PhD from the University of Reading, UK in motion planning for multiple autonomous vehicles, for which he was funded by the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Program. He was awarded the Best PhD dissertation award from the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society in 2014. His book entitled “On-Road Intelligent Vehicles: Motion Planning for Intelligent Transportation Systems” is soon to be published by Elsevier. He is currently working with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. He received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, India. He is the author of four books, 2 video lecture series and over 80 research papers in leading journals and conferences.

Saransh Goila

Celebrity Chef and Author
Saransh Goila has been born and brought up in Delhi and has just launched his first book about his travelogue called, 'India on my Platter'. An inspiration to all aspiring chefs of India, he is one of India’s youngest celebrity chef. All of 28 years, Saransh is an Indian Chef, TV show host, author, food consultant and columnist. He set a record in the Limca Book of records 2014 for the ‘longest road journey by a chef’, when he hosted India’s biggest food travelogue show, Roti Rasta aur India on Food Food Channel. He is also popular for his online food and travel show ‘The Spice Traveller’ and Health Challenge where he makes favourite Indian dishes healthier. He is a passionate traveller and has dedicated himself to promote regional Indian food across the globe. He recently launched his book - 'India on my Platter' which revolves around his travel stories across 60 cities in 100 days - covering over 20,000 kms. The book is a combination of travel stories, recipes and food delights.
