In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

LaVaaz

LaVaaz is the brainchild of vocalist Dani Turner (Austin, TX, USA) and producer Jain Harshit (New Delhi, India). The pair met while studying in Valencia, Spain. The duo brings new wave electronica music together with a tasteful blend of power vocals and smooth beats. Together, LaVaaz creates a uniquely evocative sound through their electro pop infused storytelling.

Olivia Dawn & Tryangle Man

Olivia Dawn is a violinist, singer-songwriter, DJ and producer based in London. She holds a Bachelor degree in classical violin performance from The Juilliard School in New York City and two Master degrees in Contemporary Performance and Music Technology, respectively, from Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. She has studied piano and violin since she was five years old. Ryan Khoury, also known as Tryangle Man, is a French-Lebanese DJ, producer and video animator based in London. He graduated from Berklee Valencia in 2015 with a Master’s degree in Music Production, Technology and Innovation. With 6 years of experience in music production and sound design, his talent lies in his ability to tell stories through a unique combination of music and hand-drawn computer animation. He is currently releasing music under Armin van Buuren’s label, Armada.

Path to Another World

Path to Another World is a unique project born from the collaboration between Lara Jacobs, who performs a Sanddorn balance act, and Nesrine Belmokh, who composed and performs the music. The music and the art performance merge, harmony takes shape within a slow and regular movement; a dance between good and evil. The cello resonates and a voice explodes in an empowering and dolorous chant. Balance is a point, between soul’s gracefulness and material’s weight, a breath between the spirit and the body, silence between presence and conscience.

Universitat Politecnica Valencia

The spanish Makers UPV team from Valencia was awarded both Top Design Concept and Propulsion Subsystem Award at SpaceX's Hyperloop Design Weekend, a global challenge to realize Elon Musk's ambitious vision of the future of transportation. The team of only five students was competing against large teams from world's most prestigious Universities. Adam Melonas

Adam Melonas is the CEO and founder of Chew, a food innovation lab that redefines what’s possible in the world of packaged food. He is a veteran of the culinary world, where he’s pushed the limits of experimental and progressive cuisine with restaurants in five countries. Armed with an eclectic background in food and culture, Adam left his native Australia at the age of 19 to become Executive Chef at Otto’s - a fine dining restaurant in London. From there, he went on to be Chef De Cuisine at the Shangri la Hotel in Dubai, Head Chef of Jade on 36 in Shanghai, Chef De Cuisine of Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and Culinary Director of the Lab at La Terraza del Casino (El Bulli Group) in Madrid. In 2013, Adam founded Chew with the belief that in order to create lasting change, industry must lead the way. Three years later, the Chew team is now 30+ members in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a second location slated to open in Boston this summer.

Alexandra Lúgaro

Alexandra Lúgaro is the first-ever independent candidate to the governorship of Puerto Rico and is challenging the way politics is done in her country. Through her candidacy, she is redefining the way citizens interact with their representatives in government. She has transmitted her message of disintermediated democracy mostly through social media and alternative channels. Aside from economic development and education, her movement is based on calling for the reform of governance mechanisms to rescue democracy.

Brail Watson

Phillip “Brail” Watson, 25, is a classically trained vocalist, cellist, songwriter, rapper and producer from Topeka Kansas. Brail has spent the last 6 years both recording, performing, and speaking in many communities across the United States under his mantra “change the world through music.” Brail is currently the Vice President of the multimedia conglomerate New Midwest Entertainment, where he handles community outreach, marketing, and produces for a host of talented hip-hop artists on the label end as well as running a regional video game tournament. With an expansive vocal range, and a multitude of genre’s to draw inspiration from including hip-hop, soul, and R&B Brail is known to bring the house down in any performance situation.

David Martínez

David has an innate curiosity for learning and he is permanently increasing his knowledge.He combines his teaching activities with the research in the field of Radiation Therapy and Ionizing Radiations in collaboration with the Medical Physics and Radiation Protection Department at Hospital Clínico Universitario in Valencia and in the Biophysics and Medical Physics Unit in the Physiology Department at the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Valencia.

Ian Kagey

Ian Kagey is an experienced sound technician, engineer, and musician with skills in live and studio recording, sound design, editing and mixing. He is currently one of the faculty members of the Music Production, Technology, and Innovation Masters Program offered by Berklee College of Music, as well as Chief Engineer of the Berklee Valencia Campus. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, the New York state native started his professional career at New York City’s MSR Studios (formerly Right Track Recording) as technician and an assistant engineer. At MSR, Ian worked on many diverse sessions ranging from Broadway shows such as ‘Book of Mormon’, ‘Catch Me if You Can’, ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘The Addams Family’; to film mixes such as ‘Extremely Loud Incredibly Close’, ‘The Adjustment Bureau’, and ‘Tower Heist’; as well as popular music recordings with renowned artists such as Madonna and The Roots.

Jonathan Iwry

Jonathan Iwry is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he double majored in Philosophy and Intellectual History, and where he is currently a research assistant in Psychology. Having long pursued a passion for hip-hop and freestyle rap, he is a four-time winner of the university talent show, Penn’s Got Talent, and has performed regularly at the university’s annual Spring Fling festival. As an undergraduate, Iwry was also a weekly opinion columnist for the university’s student newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian, and the founder of the Penn Hip-Hop Initiative, the university’s only hip-hop appreciation group.

Jose Antonio Martorell

Jose “is” a curious and inquisitive mind. He loves discover the world without prejudices. He tries constantly to connect a spot called “Science”” with other spots like “Arts”, “Imagination”, “Emotion”, “Nature”, “Search/Share”” and “Knowledge”.

Kev Nemelka

Contemporary Art Curator, ASU Institute for Humanities Research Kev Nemelka is an art history Master’s candidate at Arizona State University researching sustainable art practice under the direction of Dr. Meredith Hoy. He is the contemporary art curator for the ASU Institute for Humanities Research, as well as Windgate Curatorial Assistant to Senior Curator and Assistant Director Heather Lineberry and contemporary curator Julio Morales of the ASU Art Museum.

Maria Iturriaga

María M. Iturriaga is the Executive Director for Berklee College of Music at its campus in Valencia, Spain, where she plays a leading role in the college’s global enrollment, marketing, admissions and career development strategy. Iturriaga joined Berklee in 2008 and was at the forefront of establishing the Valencia campus - as Berklee’s first full-time employee in Spain‑ for the creation of the college’s first international campus. María holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid.

Mayur Jumani

Mayur Jumani is an Electronic Dance Music Producer and Instrumentalist from Mumbai, India. After being a bedroom producer for a few years, he decided to pursue a Master’s in Music Production, Technology & Innovation from Berklee College of Music. He likes calling his DJ sets Live Shows, which are a perfect blend of Music and Technology. One of his unique talents is his ability to do finger drumming using Midi Instruments live.

Mike Muse

Mike Muse, co-founder of Muse Recordings, is a Music Executive, Political Expert, and change agent. By intersecting politics and pop culture, Mike uses his platform to create social change. As an industrial engineer turned media mogul, Mike has secured deals for Muse Recordings with the NFL, NBA, Chrysler and Starbucks.

Will Lydgate

Will Lydgate is a chocolate farmer, educational Speaker, musician, and music producer, known for his exquisite taste, in both music and chocolate. Will is from Kauai, HI where his family first emigrated in 1867, making him the fifth generation of Kauai Lydgates. Will’s Steelgrass Farm is one of the largest chocolate farms in the state of Hawaii, and hosts regular educational workshops and chocolate tastings open to the public. In addition to chocolate, Steelgrass grows vegetables and fruits of all kinds, vanilla, and raises honey bees.

Zoe Schneider

Zoe Schneider is a passionate singer and poet whose moral compass points her in the direction of service to her local and global communities. As a current Music Business/Management and Music Technology student at Berklee College of Music, Zoe has taken the opportunity to involve herself in on campus initiatives such as HeForShe, and ProjectNextUp, two organizations in the fight against gender inequality. In addition, she has expanded her volunteering to the Amala foundation in Austin, Texas for events such as the Global Youth Peace Summit, and International Peace Initiatives in Meru, Kenya, which provides homes for orphans and vulnerable children, as well as providing training in peace education and conflict resolution. Zoe aims daily to use her art as a way to bring people together.
