TEDxBITSPilaniDubai is an independently organised university event that aims to bring forth innovative ideas that motivate and challenge people every day to achieve new heights. Students who are inspired by change to be the change bring to stage speakers that share the ideas which drive them to shrug off prevailing herd culture and inculcate independent thinking.

In our increasingly complex yet connected world, the only way to become truly successful is to redefine what is. How do we break the barriers of the conventional way of thinking to alter our mindsets and embrace change? Can we innovate to create the big, bold ideas that redefine our world? Dóra Pálfi

Co-founder of weSTEM

Dóra Pálfi, challenges the stereotypes that exist in academic fields. A final year student at NYU Abu Dhabi, she’s pursuing her major in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Computer Science. She is also the co-founder and director of the student interest group weSTEM (women empowered in S.T.E.M.) at NYUAD and through that she advocates for stronger female presence in the S.T.E.M. fields.

Revolutionising job opportunities across the UAE, our next speaker is Jean-Michel Gauthier, the CEO of InternsME.com. He founded his first startup in 2007 and is definitely the only pharmacist ever to successfully launch the world’s fastest PC in the UAE. Jean also manages Eternal Venture’s fund which has made 3 portfolio investments within its first year of operation.

Malavika Varadan

RJ extraordinaire, Malavika Varadan, creates waves quite literally with her morning show, Breakfast No.1 on City 101.6. An avid fitness enthusiast, positivity ninja and drama queen, she has chiseled a benchmark in the radio industry. At TEDxBITSPilaniDubai she will choose to redefine connections.

Seymur Rasulov

Host and Founder of Dubai Talks

Seymur Rasulov is an ardent believer in the power of words, which stems from his 8+ years of experience in the field of linguistics, simultaneous translations and Library and Information Sciences. The host and founder of the video-podcast platform Dubai Talks, Seymur was also a featured speaker at TEDxFSUJena 2015. Over the years, Seymur has worked with many high profile organizations such as Springer, Qatar Foundation, the World Bank and the British Embassy at Baku, Azerbaijan. At TEDxBITSPilaniDubai, he will choose to redefine success.

Subodh Shetty

Travel Documentary Photographer & Founder of Photowalk

Revolutionary photographer, Subodh Shetty, counts journeys more than miles and adds smiles to every mile. A featured National Geographic photographer, he explores one place at a time with India being his prime muse. He is also the founder of the 5,500 members strong PhotoWalk Dubai movement, in partnership with photography giants, Nikon and Fujifilm.

Yousuf Al Gurg

CEO & Founder of Gravity Gym

He's the CEO and Co-founder of Gravity Gym. A one of a kind gym in UAE to encourage training through calisthenics, a workout technique that solely uses one's body-weight. Currently a senior student of architecture at AUD, Yousef is a former football team member of Al Wasl club and a mountaineer. Despite a back injury, he has successfully scaled Aconcagua, South America's highest peak.
