Way Public Library is pleased to announce our second TEDx event! We believe that a library is an excellent forum for sharing ideas and gaining inspiration. Our mission in hosting a TEDx event is to get our community motivated. The theme for the event is “(Inter)action” and we want to tap our community – local and national – for speakers and attendees who have ideas and inspiration!

Clark Ausloos

Clark Ausloos is currently a Masters candidate in Counseling at the University of Toledo, focusing on both school counseling and clinical mental health. In 2004, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Dance from The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. After graduating, he performed across the country in such shows as Forever Plaid, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, 42nd Street, Hello Dolly and in the National Tour of Seussical! He has consulted on, directed and choreographed shows including Hairspray; Crazy For You; Footloose; West Side Story, A Chorus Line and Legally Blonde. Clark has taught acting, music, dance and leadership across the country in addition to serving as the Artist in Residence at Utah State University in 2012. Clark is passionate about education, music, improvisational strategies and working with youth and increasing support and advocacy for mental health services in both schools and community settings.

Dr. Adam Schneider

Adam Schneider is a postdoctoral research associate at the Ritter Astrophysical Research Center at the University of Toledo. Adam received his Ph. D. in astronomy from the University of Georgia in 2013, where his work focused on preparations for the Gemini Planet Imager Exoplanet Survey (GPIES), a survey devoted to directly imaging young planets around nearby stars. His current research continues to investigate how planetary systems form and evolve, with the hope of better understanding the diversity of exoplanetary systems.

Dr. Jennifer Sader

Jennifer Sader is a consultant with expertise in communications, technology, and online and in-person learning. She worked for twenty years in various roles in higher education, including as a full-time faculty member and in information technology, before deciding to try her skills in the corporate sector. She holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in poetry and and Bachelor of Fine Arts in English and creative writing, both also from BGSU.

Dr. Patrice McClellan

Dr. Patrice A. McClellan is Associate Professor of Business and Leadership and Director of the Masters of Organizational Leadership program at Lourdes University. Prior to joining Lourdes University in 2009, Dr. McClellan was a member of the faculty at Miami University of Ohio where she oversaw curriculum development for Miami's Wilkes Leadership Institute and served as Special Assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs. Her research focuses on leadership education, developing culturally competent leaders and organizational change strategies. Dr. McClellan has published works in various journals and is also co-author of most recent book titled." Herstories: Leading with the Lessons of the Lives of Black Women Activists.”

Mamata Venkat

Meditation
A Perrysburg native, Mamata Venkat is a 2014 graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Minor in Spanish. After an internship with the United Nations' NGO Committee on the Status of Women, she decided to return to Dayton to achieve her lifelong passion of working in the healthcare field. She is currently pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certification at Wright State, with the aspiration of working in public health. Mamata is also employed with the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program and is a certified meditation instructor.

Rachel McCartney

One of three partners in Deep In Design LLC, a Toledo startup design & commission firm established in 2013, Rachel McCartney spends her days as a stay-at-home-and-studio Mom as of June 2015. Aside from creating metalwork and other 3D art and working in arts administration in several cities, Rachel has spent her working life just about evenly between community development and green home building and restoration.
