Theme: Voice the Change

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

The theme for the TEDxAGBSKochi 2015 conference is "Voice the change", where speakers will be discussing groundbreaking ideas that could reshape tomorrow's landscape.

Arjun Pillai

CEO, Profoundis

Arjun R Pillai started off his career with Infosys Ltd after his engineering graduation in 2010 and worked there for 2 years. In 2012, along with 3 of his college batch mates, he started off Profoundis, data analytics based product company, as the Co-founder & CEO. The company has acclaimed several global recognitions including being part of Microsoft Ventures, Startup Chile, Blackbox Silicon Valley and more. He has been an IEEE volunteer for 10 years now. He started as a student volunteer and currently sits on 4 global committees of IEEE. He is an avid traveller in having travelled 5 continents and more than 25 cities. He believes his experience stems from meeting people with his startup, volunteering and extensive travel.

Jofin Joseph

Entrepreneur

Jofin Joseph is the Co-Founder and COO at Vibe. He started off as a web programmer in the dorm rooms, went on to found Openode Labs, a web services company in the college. After his college, he went on to work with Infosys Technologies Ltd, the bellwether of Indian IT industry, for two years. With the corporate and professional experience of having worked with Enterprise Solutions in Infosys, he co-founded his dream startup Profoundis Labs in May 2012. He is an enthusiastic team player with a blend of technical and functional skills.

P J Cherian

Archaeologist

Professor P. J. Cherian is a practicing archaeologist and founding Director of the Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR). He is the Director of the Pattanam excavations and explorations since 2007. The Pattanam excavations have evolved into a major international research project. The Green Archaeology Project, an initiative by Dr. Cherian is an attempt to transform Pattanam heritage village into a garden of organically grown spices and medicinal plants to scientifically conserve the site through eco-sensitive and pro-people approach. He is member of the Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Archaeology Forum, People's Republic of China (2013) and Scientific Board (World Heritage Archaeology Parks), ICOMOS, Sultanate of Oman (2014).

Ranjith Raj

Shaji N Karun

Film Director

Shaji Neelakantan Karun is a National Award-winning Indian film director and cinematographer. His debut film Piravi (1988) won the Camera d'Or - Mention d'honneur at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival. He was the Premiere Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the first academy for film and TV in India and was also the Executive Chairman of International Film Festival of Kerala from 1998 to 2001. He is best known for his award winning films Piravi (1989), Vanaprastham (1999) and Kutty Srank (2009). He was the recipient of Padma Shri award in 2011.

Suresh Joseph

Traveller

A traveller and author, Suresh Joseph has undertaken many road travel expeditions and has quite a few records to his name. Suresh Joseph is a retired Indian Railway officer and passionate traveler with an exceptional history of excursions. He was the first and the fastest to drive a four-wheeler from Leh to Kanyakumari and back again (7,659 km), the first to complete an expedition from Koteshwar, Gujarat to Bakkhali, West Bengal (6,996 km), and the first to travel from Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh to Koteshwar (3,799 km). He has ten national solo records to his name in the Limca Book of Records. He served the Indian Railways and CONCOR between 1981 and 2005. He was General Manager of Dubai Ports World in Kochi between 2005 and 2010. He is presently a consultant and mentor and is based in Cochin
