In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ben Green

Ben Green has worked in education for 15 years. He has taught in various schools throughout the world and is currently a teacher at Waterford UWCSA in Swaziland. Leo Penny

Leo Penny is a Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA student. He has interned at NASA as a Systems Manager, and is a Certified Computer Technician. He is innately curious which makes learning quite enjoyable for him. With so many interesting fields to devote himself to, he was left with a very hard question. What was he to do with his life? He found the most meaningful of all careers not to be the politicians, not the doctors, nor the computer programmers, but those which seize the opportunities which space can provide (although all of those fields could be directed towards space, he reasoned).

Salha Hillal Hamad

A UWCSA alumna, Salha Hillal Hamad invests her efforts into activist work and community healing, through her active membership in the Black Students Association, African Student Association and Muslim Students Association on her campus and off. At the age of 17, Salha established a non-profit in her home country of Tanzania. The purpose of the foundation was to promote local handcrafts and encourage the youth's involvement in community building. She admits that it was quickly unsuccessful however, that experience fueled her passion for community. Academically, she's pursuing an Honors Specialization in Human Resources Management at Western University, Canada.

In his spare time, he reads, writes and coaches a rugby team. He lives in a small cottage on a river in Swaziland.
