Alex van Hassel

Free spirit, Youth Ambassador, social worker,
Alex (21) was kicked out of school and then decided to kick school out of his life. He wants us to reconsider where learning actually takes place: at school or in real life?

Bram Thomassen

Singer, actor and performer
If anyone knows how to appreciate and celebrate life, it is Bram (21). This multi talented, smart and likeable guy has had a lot of bad luck but always found a way to turn things around.

Britt van Berkel

High school student, education, Africa
Britt (17) wants to create a better world. Confronted by poverty on a trip to South Africa she decided to do something about it. With help from friends and family Britt started her own foundation when she was only 12 years old. Knowing that education is the key to change, she raised money in The Netherlands and used it to build schools in remote areas of South Africa.

Dalila Sayd

Food Designer, zero waste chef
Working hard as a chef at zero waste restaurant, Instock, Dalila (28) found out what ingredients she wants for her life. Confronted by loss of family and friends she realized that bringing people together and building connections is the core of all she does.

Dide Reemers

High school student
Dide en Willemijn (both 15 years old) are on a mission to change the educational system. Frank about their dislikes, they offer new perspectives and ideas to create schools that are exciting for everyone.

Erik Weug

Landscape designer
We all enjoyed playing when we were kids. Why do we stop at a certain age? Erik (20) is convinced playing is essential in a healthy, creative and happy life. He came up with the idea to set up locations where adults are encouraged to play using shipping containers in a totally different way!

Ive van den Langenberg

Student at a primary school/inventor
Ive van den Langenberg, our youngest speaker at TEDxYouth@Brabantlaan 2015 (11 years young) shows us that young minds can come up with extraordinary ideas. She invented a glove that helps deaf people to communicate with others that have no hearing impairment. Her prototype is an excellent reminder that kids should be taken seriously

Jetteke Hendriks

Performer, singer, comedien
When will I be good enough? Jetteke (28) wonders and tries to answers this question. She learned how to embrace herself just the way she is. Jetteke (singer, actress, comedian) also will give a powerful performance on the stage of TEDxYouth.

Micky Wo

Spoken word artist
Mickey Wo (29) is a spoken word artist. He mixes rap, poetry and performance into a single portrait. In his unique way, he inspires us to believe in ourselves, keep on dreaming and make this world a better place.

Quincy Kools

High School Student and entrepeneur
Quincy (17) is fascinated by the use of psychology in design and retail. While still in high school, he started his own business building websites. Now companies from different countries have offered him jobs because of his unique view on sales and influencing buyers behavior.

Roos Gomes

High school student
Roos (15) challenges us to re-think labels. Why do we call someone small, fat or tall? Are we aware of the consequences of using those words and are we able and willing to look beyond them?

Teun Meulepas

Public services, government
Teun (30) took on an amazing challenge: he and his buddy Jilt van Schayik cycled from Amsterdam to Cape Town collecting young peoples’ voices in order to put them on the UN post-2015 agenda. The building bridges project, as it was called, closes the gap between young people and policy makers. How do young people envision their future and what helps create a better, more equal world?
