TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescott is the first independently organized TED conference at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott.

The speakers for this event were challenged to find an original, reasonably applicable idea that can affect the world, while fitting the event’s theme, From the Ground Up. Topics range from new password authentication to improvement on psychological processes.

With the support of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s administration, TEDxEmbryRiddlePrescott has been conceived, planned and executed by a team of accomplished student leaders. The organizing team has been hard at work to ensure this event will be a standard for future and regular TEDx conferences on the Embry-Riddle Prescott Campus.

Gabe Bentz

Gabe Bentz is a senior mechanical engineering student focusing on robotics. Raised on a cattle ranch and educated in a one-room schoolhouse, Gabe has been creating things his entire life. After two years attending Embry-Riddle Gabe withdrew for one year in order to gain some career experience. During that year Gabe worked as an engineering intern performing work for HP and other tech companies. He then spent time to create a robotics company, whose first product failed, but then morphed into a micro-production and design firm. This company is now run from his dorm room as Gabe completes his degree.

Ian Powers

Ian Powers is a white hat hacker with a heart of gold and a keyboard that won’t quit.

Seerat Sangha

Seerat (think of "spirit" without the "P") is a third year mechanical engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. Despite the average Washington state weather, Seerat enjoys the overcast of grey clouds while enjoying her favorite coffee with her hobbies consisting of watching movies, reading, writing poetry and enjoying the company of her dearest friends. Her family originates from the state of Punjab, India, but Seerat has constantly balanced the culture shock of being born and raised in America while representing her Punjabi culture. As a result, Seerat is an open-minded, social, and extremely diverse individual whose goal is to travel and learn the history of the world while participating in the development of modern technology as an engineer, especially for the aviation world. Seerat enjoys public speaking and admires the power behind ideas changing the world for the better.
