Emily Carr and Laura Wilde

Emily - What we’re learning from water ( These collaborative outlaw science fiction sonnets are an ecofeminist investigation into water politics, the myth of apocalypse, pop culture, the legacy of the Wild West, how we open and close our days, the aesthetics of David Bowie, the ecology of the high desert, what it means to be an artist and a role model, and the environment of a relationship. Laura Wilde is a conglomerate breed whose pulsing center adds up to more than one whole entity at any given moment. What does this mean? She’s everything & nothing at the same time—gems & rocks & dirt & ironic nail polish. She’s somewhere between waking life & dreams—aren’t we all? She is the reality that all things come & go, & to let go of that rock in that river & forget why we ever hold on to begin with. She’s also a visual artist, professional cyclocross racer, & poet whose most recent interests include David Bowie, Dark Matter, & apocalyptic states of existence.
