In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aditi Dubey

Dr. Aditi Dubey who was previously an assistant professor in Centennial College! She is now a lecturer in the Centre of Applied English Studies, Faculty of Arts, The University of Hong Kong. Before being a educator she has also been a BBC Radio news presenter and reporter and also a flight attendant. She will share with us her experience and views regarding career change.

Andrew Woods

A long standing BBC correspondent based in Hong Kong. Andrew Woods also frequent runs his own radio broadcast.

Dick Lee

Mr. Dick Lee, retired Commissioner of Police, joined the Hong Kong Police in 1972 and served in a variety of posts in both crime investigation and general uniform branch policing.In 1997 Mr Lee took charge of the security operations for the handover of sovereignty of Hong Kong and the World Bank/IMF Annual Conference. His appointment as Commissioner of Police was effective from December 2003 and he retired in January 2007 after 34 years active service in the Hong Kong Police.

Dr. Jonathan Lau

Dr. Jonathan Lau is an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor in Hong Kong and he developed his passion in rhinoplasty, as known as “Nose jobs”. He will be telling us, little Jedi, how we should turn our noses up at the Sith masters of the medical field or elsewhere and be brave enough to be a pioneer and innovator.

Lance Tanaka

He is currently the founder and Managing Director of Asia Executive Resource, a consulting company that provides executive coaching for the “best of the best”, working with the leading multinational and local companies in their respective industries throughout Asia-Pacific. From 1997 to 2001, as Vice President of International for Nike-Cole Haan working out of Hong Kong, Lance restructured and set up new operations in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Korea, Italy, UK, Iberia, Greece and France.

Vivek Mahbubani

Vivek Mahbubani is a Hong Kong-bred bilingual stand-up comedian performing in both Cantonese and English. Having been crowned the Funniest Person (in Chinese) in Hong Kong in 2007 followed by his victory in the English category at the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition in 2008, Vivek has had the opportunity to take his sense of humor all over Asia including Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Manila, Bangkok, Sri Lanka and India. Having been ranked as the top comedian in Hong Kong, in 2014, the World Famous Laugh Factory in USA ranked Vivek as one of the top 10 comedians in their Annual Funniest Person in the World Competition. One of Vivek's passions is reading and his favorite book is Sun Tzu's Art of War. Oddly, his favorite color is hot pink.
