Healthy Body, Mind, and Spirit accurately represents a new major College-wide initiative focused on healthy living education. As the College embarks upon this ambitious project, with its mission of helping Canadians lead healthier lives, our goal is to unite brilliant minds to provide talks that are relevant, inspiring, and educational.

Alex Munter

For over 20 years, Alex Munter has provided leadership in health and social services and commitment to advancing our community. Prior to leading CHEO (Children Hospital of Eastern Ontario), Alex was CEO of the Champlain Local Health Intergration Network, Executive Director of the Youth Services Bureau, and City Councillor for Ottawa. And as a teenager, he launched a highly successful newspaper from his basement.

Gabriela Prada

As a physician and a policy maker, Dr. Gabriela Prada has an in-depth understanding of how the health system functions. As an author, reviewer, or project manager- in numerous health policy reports produced by The Conference Board of Canada- she has provided evidence- based decision-making materials to assist federal, provincial, and local governments as they strive to enhance the health system. But as a caregiver she has experienced the health system from a different perspective, one that she will share through her personal journey.

Graham Spero

Graham, is just coming off an undefeated race season. On August 29, 2015, at the 2015 Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships, he set a new Canadian record in the 200m sprint- making him the first one-handed kayaker to with the national title.

Hélène Campbell

Hélène, with some of her friends told her story while she awaited a double lung transplant and something just clicked. She danced into the hearts and minds of tens of thousands as her story went viral, and before she knew it, she had become a global champion for organ donation. The resulting impact on organ donation registration in Ontario was so monumental it was named the “Hélène Effect”.

Jack Kitts

Dr.Jack Kitts led the medical staff through a complex restructuring that saw three hospitals and five large programs merged into a single entity- The Ottawa Hospital. The Ottawa Hospital is now one of Canada’s largest teaching hospitals and boasts an international reputation as one of Canada’s foremost hospital- based research institutes. Dr.Kitts has championed the hospital’s current vision to provide patients with the world class care, exceptional service, and compassion.
