Theme: Rethinking the Ordinary

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chad Martin

Chad is a father of five wonderful children and is married to Katie Martin who works as a teacher, doctor, nurse, psychologist, cook, and any other responsibility that may come her way as a mother. Chad has spent his professional career in the field of education, he has worked with youth as a teacher, principal, and coach. His passion is teaching, whether that is in a classroom, on a court, or around a campfire. Sports have been a big part of his life, he believes that athletics are one venue where teaching and learning can take place in a safe place. As a former collegiate athlete and high school coach he strives to use sports as a way to reach youth and teach life lessons. He and his wife run a youth basketball league providing opportunities for over 500 youth to participate and learn teamwork, work ethic, and skill development.
