In this generation of youth, boundaries are set everywhere.
Youth are bound by their textbooks: a set of curriculum tell them what they need and need not know, pursuit of knowledge seldom leaves the lines set by the pages of books. TEDxYouth@Fullerton aims to break this boundary by featuring speakers active in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, business, education, humanities, art, and media to showcase the impacts they make and the art of learning beyond the book.
Youth are bound by classrooms: within four concrete walls, youth stare at the movements of their teachers and lecturers with limited hands-on activity and limited discussions. TEDxYouth@Fullerton breaks these boundaries by having exhibitions where attendees will have a chance to explore the world of robotics, discussion circles where attendees can explore the theory of each talk, and speakers that explore the endless possibilities of service.
Youth are bound by social pressures: expectations are set up by family members, teachers, media, and peers regarding the appearance, academic success, career orientation, community involvement, and social responsibility of youth. TEDxYouth@Fullerton will break these boundaries by showing youth that it's THEIR passions that will create a positive impact in society, and social boundaries and expectations can be changed starting with this generation.
The TEDxYouth@Fullerton team consists exclusively of student team-members who thrive to push and break boundaries in their respective roles and host an event to empower OUR generation to Break Boundaries today!
