In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Sherif Darwish is a 37 year old consultant psychiatrist practicing psychiatry and addiction medicine for the past 12 years in Alexandria, Egypt. He is a senior trainer and organizer of professional training programs on addiction treatment and cognitive behavioral therapy. He is also a lecturer on behalf of the hotline project for addiction treatment and awareness operated by the prime minister office. In 2007 & 2008 he was recruited by the general secretary for mental health in Egypt in a combined project with the Finch government to train primary health doctors in rural areas on how to diagnose, treat and refer cases of mental illness in their center. He established what were the needs of addiction patients in Egypt and finally opening his own psychiatry and addiction center "Recovery"; He and his team developed an addiction treatment model that respects the cultural background of the patience and which can use a true multidisciplinary teamwork for the first time in Egypt.

Biography Injy Fathy Barakat . Born on 25th of October 1994 . Alexandria language school graduate , student at faculty of commerce English section – business administrations , studied also interior design at faculty of fine art – décor department , studied painting and graphic designing , working as an art lecturer . Mainly I’m an Artist yet an Entrepreneur too, qualified in many business related trainings and courses. My artistic talent was discovered when I was around 6 years old and management talents began to grow since I was 10 years old. I participated in around 20-30 art galleries sold samples of my work when I was 16 and received prizes and certificates. I’m a creative optimistic hard working person I have a wide breadth of academic and theoretical experience. I’ve always been dreaming of having a business startup that mix between at and business includes everything that I’ve been learning and practicing.

Mohamed is a 22 year old bachelor in Marketing, international business and an MBA Student. He suffered an accident while he was 15 years old that resulted in a spinal cord injury. Following he had to get used to using a wheelchair, and had physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation for 17 months. He entered college in 2008 and was very difficult for him to attend due to his wheelchair. But after one year he decided to be up to the challenge and succeed in life in studies and work. He started playing Paralympic sports in 2012 and won the first championship he played. He is also working with his father in cloth manufacturing and trading. He is very ambitious and aims to achieve the highest level of success and happiness and making other people happy too.
