TEDxYouth@TampaRiverwalk (formerly TEDxYouth@TampaBay) provides a one of a kind opportunity to engage young people in the sharing of big ideas and deep discussions with others who believe in living intentionally and with meaning in our world.
TEDxYouth@TampaRiverwalk 2014 was, as all our TEDxYouth talks have been since 2010, a thoughtful, warm, inspiring and engaging experience. Our six presenters each brought their own vision to this year’s TEDxYouth theme of Worlds Imagined.
Maria Roberts and Ellie Rodriquez imagine a world of equality, especially with respect to education, where everyone has access to knowledge and opportunity for a better future. Fiona Potter envisions a world where youth look up from digital devices and reconnect with strong, persuasive voices. Rachel Mallett seeks a world where we take responsibility for one another, where we care enough to act when someone calls out for help, in any number of subtle and not so subtle ways.
Joseph Almeida believes the world through the eyes of a third grader is a world of possibilities and strong relationships, a world flushed of fear and filled with curiosity. Vanessa Ralph imagines a world with a more adaptable education system that better meets the needs of learners, and Justin Farrow says to have a better world, we need to make geography personal and relevant.
As enriching as the talks were the opportunities between sessions and after the event to connect with one another, to learn, reflect, share and network.
