The City of West Hollywood is also known as “The Creative City,” due to its rich history as a hub of entertainment, dining, fashion, design and architecture. Originally, an unincorporated section of Los Angeles County, the 1.9 square miles between Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, known as West Hollywood was officially incorporated in 1984. Home to iconic global destinations as Sunset Boulevard; Santa Monica Boulevard, the historic “Route 66;” and Melrose Avenue (The Avenues, Art, Fashion & Design District), West Hollywood is recognized as one of the most dynamic and contemporary cities in the country.
TEDxCityofWestHollywood will be a monthly series where City Hall employees come together to watch TED Talks and engage in discussions about global issues, technology, design, and innovation. Similar to a book club, participants will come together to discuss issues or themes that spark an interest after viewing a variety of TED Talks from different fields. By engaging participants in discussions about ingenuity and innovation, it is our goal to continually promote creative and innovative thinking at City Hall.
