It could be that bridges are the most explanatory symbol of the age of communication. Nevertheless, bridges of today are very hasty and goal-oriented so that they have transformed human beings into objects and isolated them from each other. This talk is about Si-o-se-pol (thirty three bridges) in Isfahan which is a sample of bridges which not only had been built for passing the river but as a place for contemplation and surprising encounters. By reviewing the symbology of the bridge and its underlying philosophy, Farzad Goli introduces this bridge as a model for urban planning and a communication and meaning-oriented technology.
