He frequently testifies before US Congress on climate change and clean energy solutions.

A leader among conservative environmentalists, Powell serves on the board of the 2040 Foundation, is a strategic advisor to the Silverado Policy Accelerator and is part of the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center’s Advisory Group. He served on the Advisory Committee to the Export-Import Bank of the US from 2019 to 2021. Previously, he was with McKinsey & Company in the energy and sustainability practices, focusing on corporate and government low-carbon growth roadmaps and on building clean tech markets.
