Miguel Goncalves is an investor who believes sustainable finance can be used to address major global problems.

Why you should listen

Miguel Goncalves is a private market investor at American Securities LLC and a Harvard Business School MBA student. He also works with The Salto Project, a nonprofit organization founded by TED Fellow Guido Núñez-Mujica to help Venezuelans emigrate from the country and rebuild their lives abroad. Goncalves previously worked at AVALT, a family investment office, and at the Boston Consulting Group.

Goncalves was a 2011 Bezos Scholar, received a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Cambridge and graduated from Yale College with majors in physics and international relations, where he won the Hart Lyman Prize as the highest ranked student in his class. Outside of investment, he is a classically trained bassoon player, orchestral conductor and comic.
