Melodie Yashar is a designer, architect, technologist and the director of building design and performance at ICON, a construction technology company focused on bringing large-scale additive manufacturing (think: 3D printing) to both Earth and space. Interested in figuring out the development of effective off-world systems, she also has her feet on the ground, focusing on designing and building resilient housing right here on Earth.Yashar teaches design at ArtCenter College of Design. Previously, she worked in the Human Systems Integration group at NASA Ames. She was also a co-founder of Space Exploration Architecture, a research group delving into the challenging combination of humans and space exploration.
