Why you should listen

Maxim Timchenko has led DTEK since 2005, helping it evolve from a conventional, regional energy company into the largest private commercial energy operator in Ukraine. Upon Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, DTEK formed a crisis headquarters with key personnel and organized the evacuation of its employees and other Ukrainians from combat zones. The company continues to provide millions of Ukrainians with electricity, ensures the restoration of grids and offers humanitarian aid throughout the country.

Timchenko started his career in 1998 at business services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. From there, he entered the energy world through SCM, an industrial holdings company, before joining DTEK at its establishment in 2005. Today he is a member of the Electricity Governors, a community of business leaders and partnered organizations from the World Economic Forum, the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine supervisory board, which aims to align businesses with the UN’s sustainable development goals, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
