Mary Ann Sieghart is an award-winning journalist who spent many years at The Times of London, where she was assistant editor and political columnist. With 30 years of experience in political and business journalism, she was a founding member of Women in Journalism, a UK-based organization campaigning for women to be portrayed more fairly in the media — and for female journalists to have greater equality. Her recent book The Authority Gap: Why Women Are Still Taken Less Seriously Than Men, and What We Can Do About It has been a bestseller since its publication.
Sieghart is on the board of The Guardian newspaper, is a visiting professor at King's College London and she also chaired the judges for the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2022.
