Kathryn Mannix is on a mission to restore our lost understanding of dying.

Why you should listen

Drawing on her thirty years as a palliative care doctor in the UK, Kathryn Mannix has taken up the challenge of bettering the public's understanding of dying. She has seen the peace of mind that comes with a better understanding of the dying process, as well as the profound impact of meaningful conversations with friends and family. She uses her experience as a palliative care doctor and psychotherapist to explain how we can best approach these delicate conversations.

Her book of stories about the way people live while they are dying, With The End In Mind, is an international bestseller short-listed for the Wellcome Book Prize, available in 16 languages. In response to the enormous response to her first book, she wrote Listen: How to Find the Words for Tender Conversations, a book to help us all tackle the conversations that matter most to us. She has spoken on TV, radio, podcasts and at live events across the UK and around the world.
